Hell, I just thought digikam’s keywording tool sucked big time, but I was wrong.
It does not suck, it is just WRONG!!! Be very careful, since digikam just organizes keywords in a tree like view. This means since you usually are not on the root directory on this tree you will end up with keywords such as WHAT > PEOPLE > Friends > John Dorian Instead of a good old plain “John Dorian” Worse than that if the keyword manager just keeps fixated at “John Dorian” and I then add a keyword to another photo, such as “Greyhound Dog” it will end up as WHAT > PEOPLE > Friends > John Dorian > Greyhound Dog It is arguable that this is a user error, but the program INDUCES YOU to do this. Its just counterintuitive. This is because digikam is supposed to nicely allow you to order your keywords tree-style, but in practice this doesnt work really well because a lot of photos just have their own keywords, or because the above induced error (very easy to come across it) happens to you, or because whatever. It is then VERY difficult to remove these damn keywords from digikam, since keyword managing tool is FREAKING DISGUSTING, you cannot copy paste keywords, you never get keyword suggestions, its difficult to erase keywords from your database, etc etc. So now I have to erase keywording for 5000+ images and start all over again. Probably. |
Like I said before, Lightroom curves tool SUCKS
It REALLY REALLY REALLY does suck. I can’t quite remember any other curve tool that sucked soooo much. I am just writing this out of sheer frustration about this shitty, shitty tool.
